Kids spend countless hours training and playing basketball, which, combined with their bodies growing, can often result in injuries that have long-lasting effects, keep them off the court, and affect their mental health.
This website aims to use my personal experience and knowledge from my physical therapist to help educate kids aged 7-14 who have either already experienced injuries or wish to prevent future injuries by providing knowledge, exercises, and resources. Learn more about me here.
The intention of this website is not to replace seeing a medical professional. Listen to your body, if you think you need to see a doctor then go see a doctor.
In creating this website I used the knowledge and support from my physical therapist Renuka Pinto who you can learn more about here.

Head Injury: Concussion or serious brain damage
Injury Response: If a serious head injury is sustained seek medical attention as soon as possible because head injuries can result in serious long term affects.
Contusion or Bruise: Damage to small blood vessels which causes bleeding within the tissues.
Injury Response: If the contusion/bruise is bad enough to the point where it is hard to walk on or is painful outside of pressing on the injured area then you should follow the RICE injury response. If the contusion/bruise does not meet that criteria then there is no treatment other than time.
Wound: Abrasion or puncture of the skin
Injury Response: If the wound sustained is not deep then any band-aid or gauze can be used to cover the wound until it heals. If the wound is deep or infected (click here to find out how to tell if a wound is infected), then seek medical attention as soon as possible.
